

Marsha was born on March 24, 1943, in East Chicago, Indiana, to William Burns and Louise Anderson Burns. She grew up in Gary, Indiana, and graduated from Tolleston High School. Following high school, she attended beauty school and became a licensed beautician. She later worked as a military civilian employee in Clovis, New Mexico, and dedicated more than 20 years of service to the Austin Independent School District.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald L. Griffin, to whom she was married for 57 years; her son, Shannon Griffin and his wife, April Glass Griffin; her brother, Donald Burns; her brother, Craig Burns Sr. and his wife, Tonya Burns; her sister, Ingrid Burns Brownlee and her husband, Harvey Brownlee; her beloved grandchildren, Jazmin Griffin, Nia Bradley, Cameron Griffin, and Ava Griffin. Her lifelong friends, Arthur Stinson; Shannon's god-sisters, Monica Stinson and Veronica Stinson Glover and her husband, Cedric Glover; her godson, Eddie Stinson and his wife, Lorie Stinson.
Marsha was best known for her unwavering devotion as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a remarkable talent for scratch cooking and found great joy in bringing family and friends together around meals prepared with love and care. Cooking was her love language, and everyone fortunate enough to sit at her table knew they were being cared for.
In addition to cooking, Marsha loved tending to her flowers and took great pride in creating beauty both inside and outside her home. She took special joy in making her house a welcoming place where family, friends, and loved ones always felt comfortable, cared for, and at home. She also cherished the experiences and friendships that came from living in Japan, Italy, and New Mexico. These chapters of her life introduced her to people who became lifelong friends and extended family. Among the most treasured were Arthur and Juanita Stinson whose friendships spanned decades and enriched her life in countless ways. Arthur and Juanita also lovingly served as godparents to her son, Shannon Griffin, creating a bond between the families that endured for generations.
Those who knew Marsha will remember her resilience, candid honesty, and loving spirit. She had a vibrant personality and a colorful way of expressing her feelings that made her both memorable and beloved. Her generosity, laughter, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Marsha's legacy lives on through the family and friends she cherished and the countless memories she created. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
