He was born on April 12, 1929, in Houston, Tx, the son of Bertha and Frank Peerman, Sr. Bob graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston and attended The University of Texas at Austin.
Bob was a proud veteran, having served as a drill instructor for the United States Air Force in Miramar, California. He proudly put hundreds of cadets through their basic training and kept in touch with many of them over the years.
Bob began his career in home building, design and development in Corpus Christi, Tx. with his brother, Frank Peerman. Over many decades, Peerman Homes designed and built numerous custom homes, commercial buildings, and townhomes including Carriage Park and Corpus Christi County Club Townhomes. In 1975, Bob moved his family to Austin, Tx to begin his own venture. He developed many subdivisions throughout southwest Austin and was an award-winning designer of custom homes. The subdivisions he designed and developed include, Saddletree Ranches, Bell Springs Ranch, Oak Run, Oak Run West and Estates of Lewis Mountain, just to name a few. While developing land, he also designed numerous custom homes throughout Austin, Corpus Christi, Port Aransas and around the country, including Las Vegas, Atlanta and Jackson Hole.
Another area of great pride for Bob and his family was his artistic talent. He loved to paint and it showed, using several different mediums including acrylic, pastel and watercolor. He loved color, moods and nature. His landscapes were peaceful and serene with subtle color to capture the feeling of a place or a moment. His award- winning artwork was displayed in many
galleries throughout Texas and enjoyed by many friends and family members through his gifts of paintings.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet Hemingway Peerman. Their bond was deep and special. Their lives revolved around each other and their love was truly evident. He is also survived by their children, Robert Peerman, Jr. of Austin, Tx., Greg Peerman (Sandi) of San Antonio, Tx., Jennifer Peerman Church (Chris), of Houston, Tx. and Todd Hemingway (Laura) of New Symrna Beach, Fl. His surviving grandchildren include Lander Peerman, Katie Church Morris (Patrick), Josh Hemingway (Lindsay), Megan Peerman Wilson (Will), Bret Peerman, Hayley Church MacDonald (Ryan), Scott Peerman, Flynn Hemingway and three great-grandchildren, Jack and Jenna MacDonald, Charles Morris and Harper Wilson.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Wallace and Frank, sister Bernice, son Mark Hemingway, and daughter in law, Allyson Womac Peerman.
A Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749 on January 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service starting at 2:00 PM.
A Graveside Service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32789, on Saturday, January 21 at 11:00 AM.
