He graduated from East Bakersfield High School and went on to work full-time as a security officer at Sears-Roebuck at Valley Plaza. Later, he enjoyed a long career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 26 years of dedicated service. In his free time, he loved watching old movies and conversing about politics and current events. Always adventurous at heart, he had been planning to travel across the United States in his RV to visit every state before the end of the year.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Guadalupe Silva, and his three sisters, Mercedes Silva, Carolina Celio, and Beatriz Durick.
He is survived by his sisters, Gloria Vega, Anna “Becky” Lomeli, Yolanda Franco, and Patricia Silva, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.
