Alice LaRaine Lewis

Alice LaRaine Lewis was born on October 30,1950 in Bakersfield, California. She passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 19, 2026. She graduated from Foothill High School in 1969 and was preceded in death by her parents William and Ramona Watson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John Lewis, Jr. (Sonny) and her children, Cyndi, Ruth, John Lewis III, Bryson, Byron and Jade. She is survived by her granddaughter, Leilani Lewis. She was preceded in death by her in-laws, John and Ruth Lewis and her brothers Cisco and Martin Serrano. She is survived by her brother Gilbert Watson and her sister Vicky Goltz.

Alice LaRaine had a wonderful life. In her younger years one of her favorite pastimes was going to Vegas or Pismo Beach. But her favorite thing in life was being a mother and a grandmother. She was the best. She loved everything about being a mom. She was always present at all their activities and made every holiday special. She was so proud and supportive of their accomplishments and was their biggest cheerleader.

She worked in their family rental business. If you were a tenant of hers, she treated you with such kindness. Never too busy to talk with you about what was going on in your life. Such a compassionate soul. She really cared about people and what they were going through. She understood that life for some people could be hard and she was a great listener.

She was also a loving member of the Lewis family. Losing LaRaine is like losing a sibling and she will be so very missed. With the Lewis’, LaRaine was always there and we will always remember how loving and caring of a sister-in-law and Auntie she was.
