As a young person, Anita lived in various areas of Mexico. She would later come to the United States and make residence in Bakersfield, California.
Anita worked at several different farms around Kern County as a field laborer. In later years she worked in the restaurant business before retiring . She loved making menudo and tamales to give to her friends.
She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Bakersfield, California for many years, until her health would not permit her to attend. Anita also enjoyed good Mexican food and listening to Mariachi Bands.
Anita is survived by a son Markos Raya and wife Joy Raya of Belmont, North Carolina. She also has a daughter-in-law Beth Gomez of Fraiser Park, California.
Anita has many grandchildren, Bryan and wife Laura Alley, Misty and Husband Justin Matejcik of North Carolina.
George Gomez Jr. and wife Stephanie of Tracy, California.
Pattie VanCamp and husband Wes of Loveland, Colorado.
Lisa and husband Joel Heckman of Silverton, Oregon.
Simon Raya Jr. and wife Tiffany of Monroe, North Carolina.
In addition to her grandchildren, she has great grandchildren Everett and Ruby Alley and Raylan Matejcik of North Carolina. Anthony and Adrian Gomez of Tracy, California.
Cassandra and husband Ina Weaver, Jacob Carley, Martin Carley, Tiannia and husband Dom Severtson of Loveland, Colorado. Ethan, Collin and Austin Heckman of Silverton, Oregon.
Also great great grandchildren Layla and Dimitri Weaver, Amelia Carley and Alo Severtson. Amari Raya, Kingston Raya, Maddox Raya.
Family member Patty Gomez of Tracy, California and her caregiver Francis.
Anita is proceeded in death by her husband Juan Guzman of Bakersfield, California. Sons George Gomez and Simon Raya and grandson David Gomez as well as many family members in Mexico.
