Antoineeta Mercedes Arvizu

Antoineeta M. Arvizu 'Toni' Born March 6, 1949 passed away suddenly March 6, 2015 surrounded by her husband and family. Toni was born and raised in Bakersfield Ca. Daughter to Rebecca Reyes and raised by Adela Medina. She had 9 siblings among both families. She graduated from Foothill High School in 1967. Mom met the love of her life Gilbert while fighting over a milk carton in elementary school. They married years later on January 6, 1968 and resided in Bakersfield Ca, raising 6 children Michelle, Barbara, Gilbert, Joseph, Rochelle, and Christina.

Mom had a huge heart filled with unconditional love. She loved kids and would always open up her home as a safe haven. Growing up our house was always filled with neighborhood friends that grew to love and respect her as mom and later was known as grandma "Toni" to everyone. She was very involved with volunteer work with the P.T.A at pioneer drive, girl scouts at Voorhies elementary, Foothill Bingo, and was a big part of Fairfax Jr, Baseball club. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren; loved being outdoors working in her yard with her flowers, yet her love for Bingo was her highlight of passing time. Mom touched the lives of many she will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Toni is preceded in death by her mother's Rebecca Reyes and Adela Medina her Brother's Richard and Ruben Medina. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Gilbert F. Arvizu, daughter Michelle (Santos) Luevano, daughter Barbara (Joe) Herrera, Son Gilbert, Son Joseph (Carmen) Arvizu, Daughter Rochelle, Daughter Christina (Frank) Deleon, 17 Grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Her brother's Louis Medina (Gilroy), Tim Medina, Jasper Reyes and Sisters Cecelia, Christina, Elena and Delia all from Bakersfield Ca.
