Arlen Frank Kurtis, 83, was born October 24, 1933 in Los Angeles, California to Frank and Arlene Kurtis. Arlen served in the US Navy and followed his Dad's legacy to become a legendary boat and car builder. Arlen's skills led him to design and build the starter carts for the SR-71 Blackbirds, which were stationed around the world. He had a passion for life, racing, car shows, the outdoors and travel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Carol Kurtis, his sister Ellona Kurtis, his two sons Chris and Dion, his four daughters Cindy, Cheryl, Caron and Deanna and their spouses, his 11 grandchildren and his 11 great grandchildren.
Viewing is on Friday, December 9th from 4-8 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park (9101 Kern Canyon Rd). Funeral Service will be at St. John's Lutheran Church (4500 Buena Vista Rd) on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made in Arlen's name to The Guild House (1905 18th St).
