Arnulfo Reyes Perez

April 18, 1937 - December 29, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arnulfo R. Perez who left us peacefully on December 29, 2025, at the age of 88 with his loving wife Rosie of 65 years by his side. Arnulfo was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Rosie (Grijalva) Perez, children Laura Perez, Stephanie and husband David Mojica, Cecilia Perez, grandchildren David Mojica III, Christopher Lopez Jr., Marissa Mojica, Bayley Lopez, Luke Mojica, siblings Adeline Munoz and Loraine Romero, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Candelaria Perez, siblings Teresa Martinez, Pedro Perez, Eduvina Samora, Alice Hernandez, Rosie Padilla, Johnny Perez, and Henry Perez.

Arnulfo was born on April 18, 1937, in Sonora, Texas. He attended East Bakersfield High School, worked with his family in agriculture and at Coca-Cola and thereafter met his wife Rosie. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged after proudly serving his Country. He worked at the Foundry, owned a small market in East Bakersfield, and spent most of his career and retired from Bakersfield City School District as a custodian and mechanic. After retirement he happily worked as a crossing guard and enjoyed helping keep the kids and community safe. He was a proud member of the Kiwanis Club and a devout Catholic who attended St. Joseph’s Parish. Arnulfo was a man of few but very strong words and was most happy being at home working in his yard and garden. He loved going to yard sales, barbecuing, camping with the family and collecting “good junk” to add to his projects. He was a cherished friend to many, was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and adored his daughters and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
