Bennie Mae Sapp

Bennie Mae Sapp, 52 of Bakersfield, CA, departed this life, February 19, 2012. She was born in Bakersfield, CA on May 14, 1959 to Pastor Theodore and the late Jeanette Jenkins. Bennie graduated from East Bakersfield High School and later graduated from Lyles Beauty College. She was married to M.C. Sapp. Bennies was dedicated to her church, God's Covenant Church of God in Christ and served there faithfully in many capacities for 17 years. Bennie also had a love for working with children. She cared for many foster children and also owned and operated her own daycare center, Bright Beginnings Day Care. She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, M.C. Sapp; her father,Pastor Theodore Jenkins Sr.; seven children, Nicole (Alvin) Littles, Nichelle Sapp, Nicholas (Tiffany) Sapp, Nellie Sapp, Shauna Sapp, Ronnette (Taj) Lelfore and Tyra Pope; her God-daughters, Tiera Ward and Monique Johnson; her grandchildren, Zachary Littles and Kyle Sapp; a sister, Denise Jenkins; three brothers, Theodore Jr.(Cedalia) Jenkins, Fredrick Sr. (Felicia) Jenkins and Mike (Jacquelyn) Jenkins; and a host relatives and friends. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary- 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, where all final arrangements have been entrusted. A public viewing will be held Friday, February 24th from 1pm -7pm at God's Covenant COGIC- 3101 Cottonwood Road, Bakersfield. The Home-going Celebration will be held at 10 am on Saturday, February 25th at Saints Memorial COGIC - 200 Pacheco Road, Bakersfield.
