Bernie lived a full and devoted life, defined by hard work, faith, and love for his family. He proudly worked at National Life Insurance for 30 years, where he built lasting relationships and served his community with dedication. After retiring from the insurance industry, he pursued a second career in the flooring business for another 30 years, showing the same work ethic and pride in his craft.
Outside of work, Bernie found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing with his family, creating countless memories around campfires, on lakeshores, and in the quiet of nature.
Bernie was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jeremiah Van Scoy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Barbara Van Scoy; his family Larry and Jan Van Scoy, Perry and Tinna Van Scoy,Jeff and Melinda Van Scoy, Cindy Van Scoy and Denise Chavez. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Darrell, Dena, Laura, Amy, Blu, Kevin, Samantha, and Dalis, and his precious great-grandchildren: Logan, Luke, Heith, Mason, and Ethan.
Bernie will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, Papa, and friend—whose legacy of love, perseverance, and family values will live on through all who knew him.
