Beverly Veronica Cota

With deep love and remembrance, we announce the passing of our loving Mama, Beverly Veronica Cota. She was born April 14, 1948 in Ventura California. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children and grandchildren on April 28, 2026 in Bakersfield, Ca. Beverly, or as she liked to be called Big John’s Wife, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. As a teen she had a fondness for fashion, music, and she loved to dance at sock hops! She loved all animals, including her devoted pets, Cleo, Sheba and Felicia. Veronica could always be found cooking for not only her family, but literally everyone who entered her house. All were welcomed with a plate of food, and she was adamant that everyone called her “Nana”. She is survived by her 1st born son, John, his wife Jamielynn, grandchildren Cienna, her husband Michael, John Anthony, his wife Marina, Marco, Paikea, Aeysa, and Great grandchildren Xavier, Rosalee, Belle, And Dominick. 1st born Daughter, Lori, her husband Alberto, and grandson Johnny. 2nd born son, Albaro, aka “Bobby”, his wife Erika, and grandchildren Kane Richard, Cross his wife Makayla and expected twin great grand sons, Baby A and Baby B. 2nd born daughter, Genevieve, aka “Jenny”, her husband Luis, and grandchildren, Aryanna, Amaiya, Laylah, and Luis. Last born daughter, Jessica, her husband Hector, and granddaughters Aryssa, and Milani. With a special mention to the many she lovingly referred to as her “bonus children”, whose lives she warmly impacted, as many of them seen her as a mother and Nana. She was proceeded in death, by her beloved husband Big John Cota, their son Michael, her parents, Michael and Delfina Ortiz, in-laws Alvaro and Tencha Macias as well as numerous family members and loved ones.

Visitation will be held at The Monarch Venue Bakersfield, 931 19th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301, US, on May 15, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at The Monarch Venue Bakersfield, 931 19th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301, US, on May 15, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
