Bobbie Jo Olivieri

surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Bobbie was born to Irene and

Joe Bowen in Bakersfield, CA. Bobbie spent all of her life here in Bakersfield, with her 3

siblings Dorsey, Darlene & Joey. Her daddy nicknamed her "Shorty" because she was the

shortest of the bunch, and it stuck with her ever since. When Bobbie was 14 years old she

met Michael Antonio Olivieri (Mike) and knew she would never want anyone else again.

They dated for 5 years, while she adopted all the Italian values of family, cooking and gardening.

Bobbie was married to the love of her life for 63 years. In true Italian style, Bobbie always had a

houseful of friends, family and even strangers. She opened her arms, and doors, to everyone as

if they were her own. You could always find Bobbie either in the kitchen stewing up one of her

famous recipes, outside tending to her garden, traveling around the world, enjoying a fancy cocktail

or laughing on the phone with one of her many friends and family members. Bobbie Jo was filled with

a strong passion for life and could do anything she put her mind to. Family has always been her number

one priority in life. She is survived by her husband Mike, sister Darlene, brother Joey, her only daughter

Vicki Beerli & Larry Munoz, her 2 sons, Michael & Juanita Olivieri and Anthony & Jana Olivieri. She had 9

grandchildren: Michael (Mikey) Olivieri, Hillary Olivieri, Monique &Tristan Jacques, Anthony & Kristen

Olivieri, Alec & Kayla Olivieri, Ali Beerli, Justin & Torii Olivieri, Michelle Beerli, and Giana Olivieri.

She also had 4 great grandchildren: Xander & Lillyana Olivieri, and Easton & Austin Olivieri. Services

will be held Friday, August 12th, at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 10:00AM

(9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306).

Those who knew Bobbie know she was never a promoter of dark colors, she often thought in bright bold

colors, always with a splash of bling and a great big floppy hat. We please ask that those attending,

in honor of Bobbie, to avoid dark colors.

We will always carry your legacy and we look forward to the day we meet again...We love you.
