

Bobby Ray Oliver was born to Isaac and Jerelene Oliver on December 5, 1960, in Bakersfield, California. He was affectionately known as “Ray” by family and friends. Ray attended McKinley Elementary, Emerson Jr. High, and Bakersfield High School. He was very athletic and played several sports; however, Basketball was his favorite. He was also a sports enthusiast, and his favorite teams were the Lakers, Dodgers, and Rams. Ray loved to cook and enjoyed watching the Food Network Channel. He took pride in his cooking, and there was not a dish that he could not cook.
Ray has two sons: Demaris Lee Oliver and Bobby Ray Oliver, Jr. Ray was married to Bernita Gupton for ten years, and from that union, one child was born: Raynesha Jaquell Oliver. Ray worked at Mercy Hospital and also at Kern Medical Center for fifteen years. After leaving Kern Medical Center, he started a lawn care business with his friend, “Smitty”. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid and skilled Dominoes player and played with friends on a regular basis.
Ray is preceded in death by his father, Isaac Herman Oliver, Sr. Ray leaves to cherish precious memories with his mother, Jerelene Oliver, siblings; Isaac Oliver Jr., Rochelle Rose Oliver-Neal
Services for Bobby Ray Oliver have concluded and he has been laid to rest.
