Bonnie "Bernice" Ortiz was born on December 16, 1933 in McCurtain, Oklahoma, she was delivered by her grandmother at home. Bernice was the only child. She and her mother Mable moved to Arvin, California at a young age.
Bernice met the Ortiz family and later married Eddie Ortiz. Bernice and Eddie raised three children, Sharron Knive, Perry Ortiz and Jeffery Ortiz.
Bernice enjoyed watching westerns, listening to music, her favorite song was "Good Time Charlie" and she liked to hear her brother-in-law Richard Ortiz sing "Buttermilk Skies."
Bernice was preceded in death by her mother Mable Parker, husband Eddie Ortiz, daughter Sharron Knive and son Jeffery Ortiz, and many other family members and friends.
She was the last of her generation and leaves behind to mourn her passing son Perry, daughter-in-law Renee Ortiz, grandchildren Ashley, Perry II, Tim, Julie, Traci, Megan, and many great, and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for this amazing woman will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 2:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
