Charlie was a loving father, brother and son, devoted husband and caring friend. He is survived by his two children, Alex Spencer age 11 and Lily Spencer age 5, his loving wife Destiny Spencer, his parents Ken Spencer, Diane Ward and Terry Ward, his sister Katy Spencer and brother Auzie Ward, as well as countless other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his younger brother Keith Ward (1991-2009).
Charlie was a passionate father and husband and loved nothing more than being home with his family. From lazy weekends at home, to baseball at the park, with his family is where he is was the happiest.
Apart from his family, he loved any opportunity to spend time outside. Be it 4x4 trips in his jeep, hunting trips to June Lake or week long trips in the High Sierra's. The outdoors was truly Charlie's second home.
Other than his family, Charlie took no grater pride than in his work. An unmatched hard worker and loyal beyond measure, Charlie spent the last fifteen years gathering friends and experience in the construction industry all around Kern County. Beginning his journey running equipment at Kern Asphalt, then to Turman and Gillam and finally for The City of Bakersfield as a Construction Inspector. Charlie never found a job he couldn't handle and never worked for an organization without coming away with at least a handful of friends.
He was a one of a kind man who will be greatly missed by many.
Services will be held October 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park inside the chapel.
