Clara Bernice Valdez was born February 15, 1931 in Hemet California to Alfred and Clara Kincaid. She died quietly in her sleep June 20, 2018 with her husband of 70 years, Albert George Valdez and her two grandchildren, Jared Valdez and Tori Valdez-Thomas at her side. Her two great grandchildren, Jett and Killian Thomas had visited her the day before, peeking through the side rails as she slept. Her son Edward Lynn Valdez joined them. Bernice is preceded in death by her son Albert Lee Valdez, and her sisters Luella Choate and Novella Hunt.
Her small 4‘11“ frame was packed full of creative energy. She always had her camera clicking away at every family function. She was a soft spoken lovely lady who left many memories for her family of marshmallows on lower shelves for small fingers to find, caches of pennies, sock monkeys, handmade stuffed animals, and wonderful specialty made foods and cakes. She was a “homebody” but her warmth stretched far beyond. She was “Auntie” to many who will always have memories tucked into their pockets like the pecans and lemons they’d find when they left her presence.
Her last family gathering will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Kern Canyon Road on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10 AM. Please, all that loved her, join us to share one last sweet “hug” with a very special lady. Viewings will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Thursday evening June 28 from 5 to 9 PM and again on Friday morning June 29 from 9 to 10 AM. A Celebration of Life will begin and 10:00 AM, in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Valley View Lawn.
