Dale Edward Standifer

Dale was born July 25, 1938 to parents Roland & Jane Standifer, whom proceeded him in death, along with his brothers, James & Fred Standifer, and nephew, Eric Standifer, of Ojai, California. Dale’s sisters Betty Alexander & Inez Savage of Oildale, California also proceeded him in death.

Dale was among the earliest North High School graduating classes, class of 1957, where he excelled in both football and track and field. In 2018 his athletic legacy was recognized by North High School and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

In 1962, Dale was drafted into the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and then received an honorable discharge in 1964. He went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Physical Education from Bakersfield College and UC Santa Barbara. Dale would spend the next 30 years teaching physical education and working as a Head Coach for Delano High School until retiring in 1996.

Dale is survived by his nieces & nephews, Rocky, Terry, Curtis, Willie, David, Kelly, Kenny, Kevin, Marilyn, Kaely, & Kari, and he will be missed by his many great nieces & nephews. He is missed by everybody who knew him and loved him.

Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park located on Kern Canyon Road on July 9th, 2026 at 9:00 AM.
