David Dean Ruth Sr.

David Dean Ruth, Sr., beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and cherished member of his family, passed away peacefully on September 2nd, at the age of 82.

David was born in Bakersfield on August 2nd, 1944, to Georgia and Harold Ruth. After the passing of his mother at a young age, David was lovingly raised by Ruby Ruth, who became an important and devoted mother in his life.

He grew up in Lamont, alongside three brothers, Charles, Darrel, and James, and was later joined by two sisters, Judy and Delcie, forming family bonds that remained a meaningful part of his life.

David was a devoted husband to his wife Mary, celebrating 60 years together this past February. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and many cherished memories. Their marriage was blessed with 2 children, David Jr. and Diana. He was also a proud Papa to London and Siena. His role as a grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Ruth; his children, David Ruth Jr. and wife Marilyn; Diana Ruth (Howry) and husband Scott; his grandchildren, London and Siena Howry and Jeffery Carlon and Jennifer Duke; his siblings, Judy Cavaness [George] and Delcie Perkins [Tim]; and many extended family members and friends who were fortunate to know him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Ruth; parents Ruby and Harold Ruth; brothers Charles Ruth, Darrel Ruth and James Ruth.

David will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, devotion to family, work ethic, and generosity. He especially enjoyed vacationing at the beach with his wife and kids and working on and riding buggies with his brothers and son, creating fond memories that will be remembered for years to come.

Above all, he cherished his family, his beloved dog, Hayley, and the time he spent with those he loved. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 am Garden of Peace Hillcrest Cemetery.
