JoAnne was born in Oklahoma City, OK., and moved to California with her family when she was 11 years old. During her lifetime she worked in the restaurant industry, medical field and lastly at Sullivan’s Dress Shop, from which she retired after 20 plus years.
One of her greatest joys was holiday dinners with family. It was important to her to keep a clean house, have home cooked meals, and to never go anywhere without “my face on”, hair styled and being well dressed. She loved carrying on her family’s tradition of frequent outings to Mexicali, her favorite restaurant, for dinner and a margarita. She would always say to those who came to visit her, “Glad you got to see me”, and chuckle.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence “Hap” and Esther Beasley (Martin); husband, Audrey Burton (“Jack”, “Paw-Paw Shaw”); daughter, Rhonda Lee McWhorter; son, Tommy McWhorter; sister, Betty Smith; brother, Danny Beasley.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Ginn; son, David (Cheryl) McWhorter; grandchildren, Aaron Ginn, Alycia Carlisle, Robin Tindall, Rodney (Mary) Lake, Jayson (Jaime) Zarcone, Shawna McWhorter, Dylan McWhorter; brothers, Pat (Carol) Beasley and Mike Beasley; Step-Son, Edward (Moe) and wife Marlene Shaw; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
