1935 – 2022
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 10:00 am for Doris Been. Doris was born and raised in Asheville, NC and came to Southern California in 1955 where she met and married her husband of 41 years, Dick Been and they moved to Bakersfield in 1960. In addition to being mom to her two children, Robin and Rich, she also served as school secretary at Fruitvale and Quailwood schools until her retirement in 1985.
Doris is survived by her two children, Robin Melton and Rich Been, and her son-in-law John Little; three brothers, Carrol, Daniel, and Grady Peek; four grandchildren, Jenna, John, and Joel Melton and Jessica Hogan (Alex Hogan); and two great grandchildren, John and Carter Hogan.

No visitation. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Cemetery.
