Ella "Louise" Hutchison

Louise Hutchison passed from this world to heaven on November 30, 2021. She was 95 years old.

Ella Louise Grimm, always called Louise, was born in Porterville, California on September 26, 1926 to Charles and Flora Grimm. Six years later, she was joined by a sister, Marie Hayes. She was raised in Bakersfield, going to Horace Mann and Kern Union High School. Her father was a bee inspector and eventually, Kern County Agricultural Commissioner. Her mother was a stay-at-home mother. Louise married and had two daughters, Gail and Donna. After divorcing, she was at Geneva Fellowship at First Presbyterian Church, in 1957, when she met Albert Lester Hutchison (always called Lester). They were married three months later and she became step mother to Paul and Ray.

Mom loved to sew, making many dresses and formals. She also loved to be out in the yard and had a passion for cactus and succulents. They were involved in several Masonic organizations. Mother was a 50 year member and Past Matron of Caledonia Chapter #391 Order of the Eastern Star. She supported Dad as Worshipful Master of his Masonic Lodge and as a Shriner clown. They traveled in several different RVs over the years with the Mobile Nobles, traveled the western United States and stayed several times a year at Pismo Coast Village. The beach at Pismo with her dog was her favorite spot. They made many wonderful friends and memories.

They folk and square danced for many years and could really cut the rug on the dance floor. They had a very loving and active 50 years together before Lester passed in 2007.

Mom always worked outside the home. She worked at KPMC radio as a bookkeeper, at Brocks and the Farm & Home Advisors office as a Steno Clerk. She retired from the County of Kern, Health Department, where she started as the switch board operator and retired as Senior Secretary for the Director in 1984.

She and dad attended University Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1972. They also attended Calvary Bible Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister, husband, son-in-law, Roger Clark and grandson, Kevin Riggs. She is survived by her daughters Gail Clark and Donna Riggs and grandson, Brian Riggs. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11 AM
