

Elton Eugene Evans ascended to his heavenly home on March 6,2024. Elton was born May 5, 1961 in Sacramento, California to Homer and Wilnette Evans. He was one of four children. He attended John F. Kennedy High School, finishing his college degree at Cal State Bakersfield. He began his teaching career in Cal City, CA, later teaching math for KHSD at Ridgeview High, finishing his career at Frontier High School, where he was also the head tennis coach.
Shortly after moving to Bakersfield in 1991, he met his soulmate Brenda and her sons Cheke and Ara. On April 16, 2000, they were married. They traveled the world together.
Though he had no children of his own, he enjoyed his high school students and his beloved boys’ and girls’ tennis teams.
He enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, and gardening. His plants were his babies.
He loved the Lord and attended Praise Center of Bakersfield with Pastor Ryan Shaw.
His sister Paula and Nephew David Wood preceded him in death, but he is survived by his wife Brenda, Mom Wilnetta McGraw, Dad Homer Evans, Sister Tori Leftwich, Brother-in-law Michael Leftwich, brother Virgil Evans, sister-in-law Diana Evans, nephew Michael Leftwich Jr., stepsons Cheke and Ara Whitfield, foster son Andreus Degraffenreid, nieces Dana, Miquelyn, and Jimelia Lee, Faydra Acker, and Crimson Hochhalter.
