Ernie Perez, lovingly known as Big Daddy to his friends and family, was born in New Braunfels,Texas on December 9, 1951. Ernie passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him, on February 23, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Noemi and his children Evelyn, Ernie Jr, Raymond, Abel, son in-law Ruben and daughter in-law Esmeralda. Ernie was an adoring grandfather to his grandchildren Aubrey, Ryan, Nick, Devon, and Aumuree. He leaves behind his brothers Frank and Eddie, and a large extended family that will miss him deeply. Ernie was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who loved to BBQ and travel anywhere. He will forever live in our hearts and not a day will go by that he will not be thought of. Our family would like to thank the entire ICU staff at Memorial Hospital. And a special Thank You to Dr. Roland Rodriguez and Dr. Igor Garcia Pacheco who went above and beyond, and whose tireless efforts will be forever appreciated. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at St. Joseph's Church, burial immediately following.
