My husband and I knew Helen very well many years ago. While I did not have the honor of knowing Florentino, but for a short time, he always offered a smile, hearty laugh, and the best olives I ever tasted! Our hearts go out to all that knew and loved Florentino. Everyone says the apple does not fall far from the tree; knowing Helen as a kind, hilarious, and genuine individual, the saying must be true. Our deep condolences.

I'd like to say that who ever helped write my Tio's obituary got it down perfectly. My Tio Flor was always making us laugh and joking around. My strongest memory of him was when we were at a carnival in Woodlake he and my sisters went on a helicopter ride that was offered at the Woodlake airport. When they returned I said "Tio why didn't you take me, I wanted to go too?" ( I was 10 years old and kinda chunky) he answered "Oh mija I'm sorry but they were charging by the pound and i didn't have enough money to pay for you.  :(
He was only joking but i didn't find it very funny at that time but i do now. But not even that could make me love him any less. I still love him and always will. My heart goes out to you Christine and all those he loved and those who loved him. He will be missed by alot of people. I'm sorry none of my brothers and sisters will be able to attend his funeral but we all send our heart felt love and pray that God sends you strength throughout this difficult time. thinking of you fondly:Tina Sul

Florentino is my Father and I loved him dearly. I will always hold special memories of the times we spent together. Dad always made me feel important, when I was just a small child he didn't mind showing me how to change the oil in the truck, just cause I was curious. He always challenged me to be the best and he always took time to teach me. Dad I will always love you! I know you are resting peacefully now.

Florentino was a genuine hero during World War II, but never one to brag about it. He was a kindly grandfather to my two daughters, and great-grandfather to little Cole. He will surely be missed. Our condolences go out to all who knew him, and especially to Helen.
