Freida Jean Henderson 89, passed away on October 23, 2023. She was born in Gypsy, Oklahoma on September 15, 1934 to Philip and Jessie Banks. Freida met and married the love of her life, Donald Ray Henderson on January 27, 1951 and had three children, Kevin, Rick, and Kim.
She is survived by her sons Kevin and Rick (Estela), daughter Kim (Steve) Johnson, and grandchildren Janelle Henderson, Shelby (Carlos) Osnaya, Nick (Lisa) Henderson, Brittany (Jonathan) Toledo, Cassie (Jeff) Cosart, and Stevi Johnson. Great-grandchildren include Ashtyn Henderson, Trace, Teller, Torryn and Truly Henderson, Alana and Ezekiel Osnaya, Braden Cosart, and Adelina Toledo, and sister Maria (Larry) Medlock.
Freida was a homemaker, devoted to raising her 3 children. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved companion Tootsie, and camping at the beach. She was a devout Christian, attending Liberty Christian Center until her passing on October 23, 2023. She will be remembered as a mighty prayer warrior for all her loved ones, both family and friends.
Freida was preceded in death by her husband Don whom she was married to for 69 years, her grandson Ryan Henderson, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary in Bakersfield, CA on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 9:00 am, with the service starting at 10:00 am and graveside service immediately after. Reception will be held at Liberty Christian Center, 8801 South H St, following the service.
Serving as pallbearers are Janelle Henderson, Shelby Osnaya, Brittany Toledo, Cassie Cosart, Stevi Johnson, Ashtyn Henderson, Nick Henderson and Ryan Henderson .
