Gabriel Sanchez Jr., age 71, of Bakersfield, California passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Gabriel was born November 8, 1949.
A visitation for Gabriel will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Shrine Our Lady of Guadalupe, 4600 E Brundage Lane, Bakersfield, CA 93307. A graveside service will occur Friday, January 22, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.

Our family will forever cherish the bond of friendship we developed with Gabriel over the last 25 years. It began with our shared love for watching our daughters compete in running competitions. Nearly every Saturday during the fall, our daughters would race against each other and then we would all enjoy lunch and a long visit together.
Over the years Gabe truly became family. Four years ago he and Jan drove several hours to a friend’s daughter’s wedding only to turn around and drive 7-8 in the opposite direction to attend our son’s wedding. That was Gabriel••• a loyal friend, a passionate person, an outstanding CHP officer, a loving father and a very special individual. We will miss him dearly.
