Dad loved his hunting and fishing trips. Every year in early August, the Juniper Ridge Hunting Club caravan would leave Coalinga and make our way to setup the best hunting camp on the coastal side. Each weekend for 6 weeks, he was proud to drive us around in his 1973 Bronco. Then in October you could find the Penney clan at the annual Buck Meadow hunting camp in the Sierras near Wishon Reservoir. He loved it there unless it snowed, then it was time to break camp and go.
He was the best husband, father, father-in-law and Papa. He and Avie never missed a game, graduation or special event for the kids and grandkids. He continued with that tradition after Avie’s passing. He missed her so much but is now enjoying eternal life with her.
We miss you dad. You set the bar high. What a great man!
