January 21, 1944 – August 14, 2022
Inez Moreno went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2022. She was surrounded by her husband and many loved ones. Inez was a wife, mother, sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and dear Friend.
Born in Lemoore California on January 21, 1944, Inez grew up, went to school and worked in the fields of Kings County. She moved to Bakersfield in 1972 and began her career in health care at Memorial Hospital and San Dimas Medical Center. Inez worked in the healthcare field for greater than fifty years. At the time of her retirement at the age of 72, she worked for Dignity Health in the Birth Center and took joy in witnessing the beauty and love that babies can bring. Inez was dedicated and hard working. She set the example for commitment and loyalty in everything she dedicated herself to. She was quick to point out the accomplishments of others but preferred not being the center of attention. When Inez believed in something or someone, she was all-in.
Her commitment extended to her faith in God. Inez accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in the early 80’s. Richard and Inez met and married in church and spent many years worshiping together. Valley Baptist Church is their home church. Even as her health began to fail, she enjoyed listening to the preaching’s of the gospel on TV. Inez loved spending time with her husband and family at home and at the beach, sharing good times and good food (chile rellenos are her favorite).
Inez is survived by her husband of over 38 years Richard Moreno. She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Benny Ridenour, Barton and wife Lucy Ridenour, Bobby Ridenour, Bonnie and husband Joe Quiñonez; Patricia and husband Roger Cherry; and Joann Rigorette. Inez is also survived by her sister Rosie Moyna and Brother-in-Law Conrad Lee Cox. Inez had six grandchildren: Celestina Quinonez, Krystal Ridenour, Alyssia and husband Joe Quiñonez, Barton Ridenour Jr., Justyn and wife Sam Ridenour and Bobby Ridenour Jr.; and was also blessed with ten great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
Inez was preceded in death by her Father Jesse Richard Riso; Mother Margaret (Chavez Perez) Borba and Stepdad George Borba; Brother Richard Joe Riso and Sister-in-law Roberta Riso; and Sister Nadine Cox.
We would like to give a special thanks to Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care at all hours.
Visitation for Inez will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 beginning at 9:00 am with the graveside service following at 9:45 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
