Beloved wife of William Leo Norris, loving mother of William Leo Norris, Jr. and Pamela Irene Norris. Also survived by her beloved sister, Bess Sturgeon. She is predeceased by her parents William Harvey and Cecil Irene Brewer, as well as her in laws, William Lewis and Blanche Norris.
Irene married her sweetheart, with whom she attended Arvin High School and they were married on December 6, 1957.
After her children were in high school, she worked for the County of Kern, and eventually held the position of Office Manager of the Kern County Council's Office, a position she loved.
During their retirement years, they traveled extensively with family and friends including an Alaskan cruise, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, most of the United States, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family trip to Italy, her favorite.
She was the rock of her family and always made certain everyone was well cared for. There is a hole in our hearts but she will always remain there forever.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, August 28th, at Hillcrest Mortuary, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and memorial services at the Hillcrest Pavilion at 10:00 a.m., Thursday August 29th.
