Jaime was born on September 27, 1955. He was born and raised in Bakersfield, California where he attended local schools. He is survived by his mother, Juanita Valdez; siblings Ruben (Sylvia), Irene (Eddie), Sylvia (Micheal), Irma (Eddie); and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. And of course, the loves of his life, his children and grandchildren Jaime Jr. (Rossana) grandson Jaime III and Idica (Nehemiah) grandsons Baylen and Xander. Jaime loved hearing and sharing stories with his family. He was proud and celebrated everyone’s accomplishments.
Jaime worked as a diesel mechanic for many years. Jaime was a self-taught proficient and skilled mechanic; there was nothing he could not fix. He definitely was a jack of all trades. There was a time in his life where he would drive up and down the Grapevine looking to help stranded drivers. He freely shared his knowledge with anyone willing to learn. He was adamant about teaching how to change a tire or knowing the basics about a vehicle.
By nature, Jaime was a humorous comedian, and his laughter was contagious. There was never a dull moment while in his presence. Although he always had an extraordinary way of looking at life, he also had an enormous kind heart. With his colorful personality, he never met a stranger.
Jaime loved a variety of music genres. He attended numerous concerts at the Kern County Fair and various venues. Almost everyone remembers a time with him and that one song or songs that remind them of him.
Jaime lived a humble simple life; however, he was a blessed wealthy man with all the people that loved him. He will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
We would like to thank the staff members from Golden Living in Shafter and Parkview Julian in Bakersfield. He was well taken care of and made a lot of friends.
