Jimmie “Imo” Hubbard was born in Oklahoma to Edna and James Session. She and her husband, George “Wes” Hubbard, moved to Bakersfield in the 1950s, where they raised their family. Jimmie worked as a meat wrapper at Vons until her retirement in 1987.
After retirement, Jimmie and Wes spent several years traveling to all 50 states, making friends wherever they went. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome.
Jimmie loved cooking for family and friends, playing cards, and spending time with those she loved. She especially enjoyed supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their activities and sports. Her home was a gathering place filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
The family is especially grateful for the loving care and friendship Mary Perrigo provided to Jimmie.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband, George Wesley Hubbard, and her ten brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Karen Porterfield, Carolyn Schimnowski (Don), and Darryl Hubbard (Karen); 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
