Born in Torrance, CA July 09, 1962
On April 16, 2022, after 59 years of hard-fought life, Kevin Lee Kizzar (Big Kev) has been laid to rest after passing away peacefully in his sleep. Kevin was a great father, uncle, brother friend, mentor, servant, and athlete.
Kevin was proceeded in death by his father Elbert (Jerry) Kizzar and Mother Thelma (Terry) Kizzar, sisters Gloria, Linda, Sheila, and brother Jay. Also, his recently found biological father Robert Hurtado.
He is survived by his son and earthly treasure Kevin Lee Kizzar Jr., daughter-in-law Makenah Kizzar, brother Randy Kizzar, sisters Sandra and Xochy Hurtado, as well as his two other children Jesse Harris and Ashley Clarke. He was a father figure and mentor to many others.
Nephews: Dennis, Michael, Ronnie, Ricky, Eric, Brian, Jeremy, Jason and Nicolas.
Nieces: Roberta, Jennifer, Brandi, Rochelle, Emily, Taryn, Tricia, Jamie, Lindsey, Carrie and Garrilynn.
Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Emma and Levi.
In June of 1998, he married the love of his life, Dawn Kizzar. Although life took them down separate paths, their relationship grew stronger in their commitment to raising their son together.
He was a hard-working man and took pride in his work. He had a reputation of being one of the best and cherished the friendships he built in the oil fields being a tong operator. He finished his career with Casing Specialties. The love, respect, and appreciation he had for his boss, Rusty Davis, was unmatched.
At an early age, he developed a passion for sports, bleeding Dodger blue and Laker gold. He excelled in those sports and his talent was recognized by so many. He also had a great passion for music. Following that grew his love for dancing and occasional rapping. He made his own safety rap for the oilfields. One thing he will be remembered most for is his desire to help others. He might of given the shirt off his back, but it would be tough to get the Jordans off his feet. He really loved his shoes. He had a passion and talent for riding bikes. If he wasn’t playing on the court, or on a ballfield, he was riding his bike somewhere. He carried the tough, hard work ethic from his father Jerry and the love and compassion from his mother Terry.
Above all is the love he had for Jehovah God. Kevin’s greatest desire was that his family, and the ones he loved, receive the free gift of salvation given to us by Jesus Christ.
Kevin did so much for young kids and believed everyone deserved a chance. He loved to provide them with their needs, so the family asks the next time you cross paths with a kid in that situation, do what Kevin would’ve done and help them in remembrance of him.
