Kevin "Little Kevin" LaShawn Mallard Jr.

August 5, 2002June 6, 2020

Kevin LaShawn Mallard Jr. fondly know by his family as “Little Kevin” was born at San Joaquin Hospital, Bakersfield, California on August 5th 2002. Kevin was the second of five children. Kevin attended Greenfield Middle School and Mira Monte High School.

Kevin was a beautiful, happy baby that had a beautiful smile and he was the joy of his Mom and Dad’s life. As a toddler he was always into everything, exploring and seeking out what he could get into next. Every time he made a new discovery, he had to taste it, look at it and taste it again, everything went into his mouth. “Baby Kevin” met all his developmental milestones. Kevin was a good student in elementary school and thought every student in the school was his best friend.

Kevin thought being in Middle School and High School was cool and his world was opening up for bigger and better discoveries such as: basketball, football and yes, girls.

Kevin was an excellent worker; he was hired to work on a house and he would not stop until it was perfect. He also loved his job working at Hollywood Market the customers loved him and he loved them. He was a very likable and trusted friend to many. Kevin had lots of close friends who loved him and he would always be there to lend a hand.

Kevin loved his family he and his Dad had a good relationship and he confided in his Dad. He loved his Mother and his brother Jason was his “Boy”. His sisters were very important to him, he always felt that he needed to be their protector and needed to know what they were up to, he wanted the best for them. Kevin had a very sweet spirit especially when it came to both his Grandmothers: Debrah Ornelas and Joan Mallard, he spoke about them often in a very endearing manner. His fiancé Christina Nelson was his love and strength, they were good friends and always together.

“Little Kevin” leaves to cherish his memories: His Father, Kevin LaShawn Mallard Sr.; Mother, Alysha Marie Ornelas; Fiancé Christina Nelson; Brother, Jason Eric Jara; Sisters Ashlynn, Kayla and Jaysha Mallard; Grandfather, Frederick V.
