Laurena Rose Escola

Laurena Rose (Stancliff) Escola, 98 ½, a resident of AristaCare at Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon, PA, since 2014, and formerly of Bakersfield, CA, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at AristaCare at Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon. Born September 17, 1919 in Bakersfield, CA, she was a daughter of the late Clifton Llewellyn and Talitha Della (Welch) Stancliff. Her first union in marriage was to Elwood Davis on September 18, 1937 in Las Vegas, NV, who preceded her in death on January 3, 1944. Her second union was to George Edward Escola on March 9, 1945 in California, who preceded her in death on August 30, 1983, after 38 years of marriage.
Mrs. Escola is survived by two daughters and four sons, Arlene Elouise Johnson and her husband, Bob, of Huntingdon, PA, Verna Ann Henson of Citrus Heights, CA, Dwayne Llewellyn Escola and his wife, Sue, of Ridgefield, CT, George Edward Escola, Jr. and his wife, Jan, of Las Vegas, NV, David Frank Escola and his wife, Elaine, of Fort Bragg, CA, and Darrell Arthur Escola of Clovis, CA; 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Jack Stancliff of Reno, NV.
She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Glenda Ann Henson and Kristina Ann (Johnson) Lidston; four grandsons, Rick Hilding Hernstedt, Timothy Ronald Field, Steven Richard Escola and Noel Anthony Scovill; four brothers, Leo Stancliff, Robert Stancliff, Wilfred Stancliff and Gerald Stancliff; two sons-in-law, Roger Hernstedt and Glenn Henson; two daughters-in-law, Laurie Escola and Terri Escola; and one grandson-in-law, Pat Harris.
Mrs. Escola belonged to a loving fellowship in a humble home; in sincere worship of the heavenly Father and the savior Jesus.
She attended Kern County Union High School, Bakersfield, CA; and was primarily a homemaker.
Mrs. Escola professed to serve Jesus on April 23, 1933, and continued faithfully until her death. She also loved spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed fixing meals for others in her home; and will leave a faithful testimony behind.
