Lee E. Brown co-owner of San Joaquin Helicopters in Delano, CA passed away peacefully at home at the age of 72 on July 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving wife, sons, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren.
Lee was born in Long Beach, CA in the year of 1942. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Lena Brown and his beloved grandparents Clarence and Florence DeWitt. He is survived by his wife Anita, their two sons Lee Jr. and wife Julie & Chris and his wife Shannon and of course, his beloved grandchildren Alec, Ireland, Amanda, Mark, Jacob, and Zachary and his many dear friends.
Lee has resided in Kern County for 48 years. He graduated from San Fernando High School in 1961. Once Lee graduated he married his high school sweetheart Anita in 1962. He then began his service in the United States Navy Reserve. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Lee started his own catering truck service for three years in the San Fernando Valley area. In the year of October 1967 Lee and Anita moved to Delano, CA to begin their life farming with his grandfather Clarence E. DeWitt. Lee saw the opportunity to own part of a company called San Joaquin Sprayers which was located in Delano, CA and later to become San Joaquin Helicopters. Lee and his partner Jim Josephson has successfully operated the business for over 45 years in professional ground/aerial agricultural application, along with farming, orchard removal service, and government contracting.
Lee lived his life as a Godly man. He spent his Sundays with his wife attending Valley Baptist Church and bible study groups.
Lee will always be remembered as a man who gave his time, advice, and love without hesitation. In many ways, he was an instrument of God, who loved to share his knowledge, passions, and insightful wisdom to those he encountered. He never asked for much, but only loyalty and honesty. He will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him and the memories of him will continue to prevail through the great moments that he shared with those who knew him.
We will be forever grateful to the loving care he received from the oncology staff and especially the oncology nurses at CBCC and all the "Angels" at Hoffman Hospice.
