Dearest Mrs Payne, Billy and family:
Red and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of Leonard.  He was a great man, a very very hard worker and a honorable christain man. I know he will be missed by many. He is in heaven smiling down on you all. He loved you all so much!!! You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Leonard when I was 8 yrs old in church,he loved the Lord like nobody I knew! He is awesome man of God!He was some one to look up too, was a honest and fair  business man!His handshake was good as gold!It  was always a pleasure seeing him and just talking with him! He always had a smile when I would walk up to greet him!! He taught me alot about the trucking business and the right way to "lowbed" equipment! Even in his early 80's, he could out throw me chaining down equipment. He is loved by me and will never be forgotten. My prayers to all of his family!! Your friend always, Bob Mutch,AKA "Gopher"

I have lots of good childhood memories of Bill!  He was a good volley ball player.  But he loved to cheat!! Always said it was in when the ball went over the line!!  And added points to his side score!!  Was a lot of fun. Those were good thanksgivings and christmas's.  He was a great son to his mama visited her every week without missing!  I know you are out of pain now Uncle Bill and you are reunited with your mama and my daddy!!  Give my daddy a great big hug!  Bye for now until I get there to go dancing with you and my loved ones that went before me!!!
