Linda L Bryan

She was raised in Tulare, CA , graduated from Tulare Union High School and attended College of The Sequoias. She was also a member of Jobs Daughters.

Linda married James R. Bryan on July 9, 1962 in Reno, Nevada. Although they were no longer married, she was a forever member of the Bryan and Davis families.

She called Bakersfield home for 45 years. Linda worked for nearly 50 years in the accounting field having been employed at Pepsi Co, and Coffee Brewing Company/Dales Coffee, before retiring from Clinica Sierra Vista in 2013.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, her brother Ronnie Irvi, brother in- laws Steve Bryan, and Boyd “Swede” Altaffer.

Linda leaves behind many to cherish her memory including her two sons, James R. (Beaver) Bryan (Donna) and Dale E. Bryan (Maureen) of Bakersfield. She was “Papa” to three grandchildren, Shane Bryan (Alyssa) of Bakersfield, Colton Bryan (Lindsey) of Redondo Beach and Casey Bryan of Bakersfield. Linda is also survived by one sister, Joyce Altaffer of Tulare, three sister in-laws, Eileen Bryan, Robyn Bryan Cooper and Linda Bryan Hand of Visalia, two brother in-laws, David Bryan of Bakersfield and Will Cooper of Visalia. One aunt, Grace Irvin Wingate. Numerous cousins, several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, many treasured friends and of course her fur baby Elvis.

Linda enjoyed life to the fullest, she was always up for an adventure, never turning down a chance to travel, eat (oh how she loved sweets), or babysit. She loved country music and anything Elvis Presley. Children held a special place in her heart, especially her grandchildren, they were her whole world.

She possessed a beautiful, joyful, kind and loving spirit, one that will be greatly missed. She could light up a room with her smile and laughter. Our hearts are forever broken at her loss.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that tributes be made in her honor to The American Heart Association or Critters without Litters.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, Bakersfield. Visitation at 9:00am with a Celebration of Life following at 10:00 am.
