She was born November 29, 1925, Blue Mound, Kansas, to Denzil and Ruth Damitz; lived in Bakersfield most of her life and graduated from East High.
Mabel and Jim were married in Colorado, December 11, 1943; and always celebrated milestone anniversaries surrounded by family and friends. A combination of family, faith and friends was the moral compass guiding the family throughout their lives and their marriage was an example for all to follow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Margaret.
Mabel is survived by four children: Jim Dunn and wife, Paula Pennington; Jack and wife, Michelle; Judy Berthiaume and husband, Gary; Jerry and wife, Shirley; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and numerous extended family members.
Visitation : Wednesday, August 30, 2017, 4 to 8 p.m., Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Services : Thursday, August 31, 2017, 10:00 a.m., Hillcrest Memorial Park.
