It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Mahoney, who passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2026 at the age of 75.
Elaine built a long and fulfilling career as a speech-language pathologist. She owned her own private practice before finishing her career in the public school system, where she worked with students and their families until her retirement. She was known for her commitment to the children she served.
Outside of her career, Elaine enjoyed life's quieter moments. She loved getting lost in a good thriller book, doing needlepoint, spending time swimming, and visiting the beach, where she found peace and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Josephine, and by her brother, Roger.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Mahoney and David Mahoney, as well as extended family, friends, former colleagues, and those who knew her throughout her life.
In accordance with her wishes, a celebration of life will be held in place of a traditional funeral. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and reflect on her life.
She will be remembered by those whose lives she was a part of.
