Margaret Rose Nipper (Ginny Margaret), 87, passed away on September 28, 2026. Born March 27, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee, Margaret was the daughter of Robert Lee Farler and Carrie Buffalo. She later grew up in Bakersfield, California, where she attended Panama School from first through eighth grade and graduated from Bakersfield High School.
Margaret shared her life with her husband, Waymon Drexal Nipper. Together they built a family and a home shaped by steady devotion, enduring commitment, and the quiet strength found in a life lived with purpose.
Margaret was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Lance Michael Nipper and Alexie Diane Janson, and by her siblings, Judy Simmons, Robert Lee Farler, and Richard Allen Farler.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Lynn Boardman (Robert), Waymon Drexal Nipper Jr, and Michael Lee Nipper (Rachel); her siblings, Debra Farler, James Farler, and Patty Smith; her grandchildren, Robert Eugene Boardman II, Scotty Christopher Boardman, Waymon Joseph Nipper, Nicolas Logan Nipper, Sadie Jane Nipper, and Jeremy Michael Nipper; and her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Renee Boardman, Breanna Nichole Hutchinson and Dylan Robert Boardman, Drexal Jaxon Nipper, Josephine Rose Janson, Alexander Von Nipper, Brinley Nicole Nipper, Blaine Brian Bumgarner and Bryce Edward Boardman.
Throughout her life, Margaret was known for her discerning eye and the care she brought to the things she loved. She enjoyed antique shopping, was an avid collector, and found pleasure in bowling and traveling with her husband—interests that reflected both her appreciation for beauty and her enjoyment of time shared with those closest to her.
Margaret was co-owner of Accessories Plus on 19th and D Street in Bakersfield, where her impeccable taste was evident in the work she did and the space she helped create. She was also deeply involved in the rabbit community. Margaret and her husband bred show rabbits, and their dedication became part of an extraordinary distinction: they hold the Guinness World Record for Nipper’s Geronimo, recognized for the longest rabbit ears ever measured, with a complete span of 31.125 inches.
Margaret will be remembered with respect and gratitude for the life she lived, the family she cherished, and the many ways her steady presence and refined sensibilities left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
