Margarita Cantu

Margarita Cantu, age 71, passed away peacefully on Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at her home on Habecker Rd. in Lamont, California. Margarita was born on December 2, 1954, in Weslaco, Texas, to Benito and Dominga Martinez.

Margarita is survived by her beloved husband, Ernesto Cantu; her children, Veronica and Ernesto Jr., and their spouses, Daniel and Lilia; and her cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Elias, Daniela, Audrina, and Rafael.

Her legacy continued to grow with the arrival of her treasured great-grandchildren, Luna and Josiah—precious blessings brought into her life through Sarah, spouse of Joshua, and Jessica, spouse of Joseph.

Her siblings include Benito Jr., Alfredo, Robert, and Gloria. She is preceded in death by brother Juan and sister Erlinda.

To all the family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, she helped raise or who held a special place in her heart, she thanks you for being here today and for celebrating her life once more. May you share your stories, cherish your memories, and always remember the laughter, love, and joy she brought into your lives.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Bakersfield Central, 124 Oak Street, Bakersfield, CA 93304, US, on March 4, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Prayer Service will be held at Funeraria del Angel Bakersfield Central, 124 Oak Street, Bakersfield, CA 93304, US, on March 4, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

A Religious Ceremony will be held at Funeraria del Angel Bakersfield Central, 124 Oak Street, Bakersfield, CA 93304, US, on March 4, 2026, from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
