Margie Mae Abbott

Margie Abbott left this world to join our loved ones in heaven on February 14, 2015 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born in Pawhuska Oklahoma on April 30, 1941 and moved to Bakersfield in 1952. Margie was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was adorned by so many.

Margie is survived by her husband of 58 years Melvin Abbott of Bakersfield. Her children David Abbott, Donald Abbott (Lana), Donnette (Abbott) Haddad, and Darryle Abbott (Michelle) all of Bakersfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren Dale Abbott, Linda Gomez, Dawn Alexander (Greg), Shawn Abbott, Carrie Massie (Jake), Danielle Shankle (Brandon), Crystal Phillips (Brian), Zachary Haddad (Kelly), Chelsea Haddad, Ryan Abbott (Mandi) and Blake Abbott (Danielle). Along with 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Margie also leaves behind a wonderful group of family members, lifelong best friends and a multitude of people who were touched by her love and warm smile.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Hoffman Hospice along with all the Doctors and Staff at CBCC who have cared for Margie.

Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
