July 1, 1973 - September 21, 2021
It is with a heavy and broken heart we announce the passing of our beloved son, Mario Muniz, Jr.
Mario Jr., 48, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family that truly loved him dearly. Mario was born on July 1, 1973, to Mario Sr. and Irma Muniz in Bakersfield, California. Mario attended local schools, Harding Elementary, Compton Jr. High, and East Bakersfield High School, Class of 1992. He went on to attend DeVry School of Technology where he received his AA in Electronics. Mario was employed by Hughes Satellites in El Segundo, Ca, which later became Boeing Satellites, where he specialized in building circuits board for outer-space satellites.
Our son was a very private person. He had a great sense of humor and was a no-nonsense person. He was a very adventurous person and was not scared to try anything. He was witty, funny, loved music and good movies, and he was very pleasant to talk to. He was intelligent and very meticulous in everything he applied himself to. He was an avid Cowboys fan and an even bigger fan of NASCAR. His dream came true and he was able to attend a NASCAR race in February of 2020.
His love for his family was unconditional. He loved us with all his heart. We could not have asked for a better son. He was truly a blessing from our Lord.
Mario is survived by his parents Mario Sr. and Irma, sister Sandra, and his only niece and goddaughter Adrianna Mireles whom he adored with all his heart. But most of all his Fiancé, the love of his life and soulmate Courtney Carter, and his best buddy who he loved like a son, William Applewhite. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joe and Hope Valenzuela, paternal grandparents Domingo and Velsa Muniz, Aunt Norma Baeza, and Uncle Jess Muniz.
Our beautiful Son, our hearts are broken in a million pieces, we will never hear your voice again. We find comfort that you are now resting peacefully with no pain in the arms of our Lord. May God grant you eternal life.
