

Martin "MG" Morin was born on Nov. 11, 1929 in Uvalde, TX and went to be the Lord on Dec. 15, 2013. He was raised in Bracketville, TX, and moved to Bakersfield in 1938. He was 84 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricio y Beatrice Morin, brothers Pedro Morin Ortega, Encarinacion "Det" Morin, Ramon Morin, sisters Corina Beltran and little sister Santos Morin. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria Luisa Morin who celebrated their 66 years of marriage on Dec. 11th, son Ernest and Victoria Morin, son Daniel Morin, daughter Olga and Danny Villalovos, daughter Cecelia and Abel Hernandez, and son Leonard Morin. He was the biggest sports fan to his children, 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great- Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and never missed a game or opportunity to be an umpire. He loved his dominoes, maracas, family and friends, and most of all, his loveable dog Chiquito. He proudly served as a First Sergeant in the Army Reserve Oct. 26, 1948 - Aug. 15, 1950, served in the Korean War between Aug. 15, 1950 to 1953 and Reserve Army 1953 to 1959. Martin will be buried with military honors. Visitation will be on Thurs., Dec. 19, 2013 from 4 PM - 8 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, Rosary begins at 6:30 PM at Hillcrest. Funeral services will be on Fri., Dec. 20, 2013 at 9:30 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Church followed by graveside services at Hillcrest Memorial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Philip the Apostle Church. We would like to thank Hoffman Hospice, especially nurses Lori, Ana, Juanita, and social workers Joyce and Mason who cared for our father in his final day.
