Newlin Tootle

He was born on June 26, 1941, to Sam and Lula Tootle. After his mother passed away in 1947, his stepmother, Hazel, helped raise him from the age of nine, and he loved her dearly.

Newlin grew up in Hilltop, California, and attended Arvin High School. He went on to become a dedicated master fabricator, working in his trade for more than 60 years. He was a quiet man of deep integrity who took great pride in his work and was truly a master of his craft.

Newlin was a car enthusiast and a talented carpenter and fabricator. He loved building, tinkering, and working on many different hobbies. He also enjoyed fishing and camping, especially when he could share those times with his family.

Above all, Newlin loved his family deeply. He was a loving husband to Sandra for 53 years and a proud father to four children: daughter Kimberly; son Ronnie and his wife, Valerie; son David and his wife, Michelle; and daughter Michelle. He was also a loving stepfather to Tim Hart and Kathy Hart.

Newlin is survived by his wife, Sandra; his children and stepchildren; his loving sister, Norma and her husband Bill Burgermaster; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry and Charlie.

Newlin will be deeply loved and greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

A service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial 9101 Kern Canyon Road Bakersfield, California, on a Monday August 24, 2026. A reception will immediately follow.
