Nick Martinez, 50, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 21.
He was born on March 13, 1964 in Bakersfield, CA to Nick and Angela (Govea) Martinez. He is survived by his 2 sons, Keith and Cameron; his mother Angela; his 2 sisters Stacy (Mike) Malloy from San Jose and Amanda (Michael) Allen from Bakersfield and his girlfriend Tracie Sessions. Also, his nephews Scott Malloy & Chase Allen.
He was preceded in death by his father Nicholas B. Martinez, Sr.
He attended Longfellow Elementary, Washington Junior High, Bakersfield High School and Bakersfield College. At 16 years of age he began is career at Vons Supermarket with the original owners. At the time of his death he had worked there for 34 years. He was an avid sports fan of the LA Lakers, SF 49ers and the SF Giants.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 28 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road. A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 29 at 9:00 am at St Philips The Apostle Church with the graveside service following immediately after at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
