Born on May 7, 1938, in Greeley, Colorado, Norm lived a life defined by dedication—to his family, his work, and his country. A proud United States Marine, Norm served with honor and carried the values of discipline, courage, and patriotism with him throughout his life. He was a man who believed in hard work, integrity, and service to others, always placing family and country above himself.
Norm was married to the love of his life, Catherine Joyce Michaud, for 60 years. Their enduring partnership was built on mutual respect and devotion, and together they created a legacy of love and strength that continues through their family.
He was the proud father of two sons, Trent (Julia) Michaud and Craig (Kelli) Michaud, and the cherished grandfather of three grandchildren: Soleil Michaud, Olivia Michaud, and Bennet Michaud. He also leaves behind his beloved brother and lifelong friend, Randy (Denise) Michaud, with whom he shared countless hours restoring classic cars—a favorite hobby that brought them both joy.
A visionary businessman, Norm spent decades building and leading The Trailer Company, a manufacturing and service business in Bakersfield. Through his leadership, commitment, and tireless work ethic, he and his partner Kenny Miller helped grow the company into a respected name in the industry, providing not only for his own family but for many families across the community.
Outside the office, Norm embraced life fully. He had a passion for fishing, a talent for poker that eventually took him to the World Series of Poker, and a deep appreciation for cars, especially those restored alongside his brother. Norm’s quick wit, generous heart, and steady presence made him a beloved friend and companion to all who knew him.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, Marine, and businessman. His values—honor, loyalty, perseverance, and patriotism—live on through the family he so dearly loved.
A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial on July 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Hoffman Hospice or the Wounded Warrior Project—two causes close to Norm’s heart.
He will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
