

Paulina Yonzon Mangalindan was born and raised in the Philippines. Her father, Apolonio and mother, Alejandra was blessed with four children: Crispin, Diosdado, Frank and Paulina. Paulina was more popularly called as Poly. Poly met Ernesto (Ernie) and they get married on June 21, 1958 and started their own family. They were blessed with six children: Verty, Greg, Cora, Lilia, Meldy, and Emily. Poly spent her entire married life as stay-at-home mother caring for her children and later on grandchildren. Poly and family migrated to United States of America in 1983 and continued to stay home to take care of her family.
Poly was well known for her cooking. She was famous for her Filipino dishes like kare-kare, pancit palabok, pork barbecue on the stick, empanada and sweet delicacies like kutsinta, steam rice cake (puto), ginataan halo-halo, cassava and sweet rice cake.
She loved to watch Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and All My Children was her favorite soap opera. When Filipino channels became available in the USA, she spent most of her time watching Filipino variety shows, telenovelas, and Philippine news. But lately, her favorite form of entertainment was a trip to the casino, and she called it her school. When she wins, she would be very happy to share her winnings to her children, and most especially to her grandchildren.
Poly was a devoted wife to Ernie, loving mother to her children: Verty & Ramon, Greg & Theresa, Cora & Rene, Lilia & Roberto, Meldy & Joey, Emy & Eric, and caring grandma to her grandchildren: Russell, Gizelle, Gerard, Clarina, Clarissa, Sam, Alex, Allyanna, Epi, Ezra, Glenn, Gilbert and grandpuppy, Reina.
