Pearl Agnes Martinez 1939 - 2013 Pearl Agnes Martinez, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Bakersfield, California. Pearl was born on September 7, 1939 in Alamosa, Colorado and moved to California in 1958. Pearl was preceded in death by both her parents Tom and Mary Martinez, and her younger brother Ron. She is survived by her son Rodney (Rhonda) Martinez, and siblings Jeanette, Gloria (Thomas) Melgares, Joyce, Tommy, and Yolanda (Pete) Parra. Pearl is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Rodney, Tiffany and numerous nieces and nephews. Pearl loved people and exuded tremendous joy for life. She was a passionate artist who dedicated much time and thought to her writings. Pearl thoroughly enjoyed her time and friendships at Tenneco, where she worked for 20 years. Pearl was also a devoted child of God who attended St. Philip the Apostle Church for more than thirty years. A Rosary and Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3rd at St. Philip the Apostle Church (7100 Stockdale Highway, Bakersfield, CA). Pearl will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. She lives forever in our hearts.
