Richard "Richie" Lee Lewis

Richard Lee Lewis 1946 - 2009 A Chapel service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. for Richard Lee Lewis who passed in his sleep peacefully with dreams of the Philippines on October 30, 2009. Richard was a graduate of BHS, class of 1964. He received his Associate of Arts degree in 1966 from Bakersfield College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in 1968 from San Jose State College. He was a well known business owner of Lewis Coating Inc., Lewis Painting Contractors, and owner/operator of Black Velvet Petroleum, Kerman, CA. Richie, as most people knew him, was a great fisherman, hunter and chef like his dad was. He loved his mountain cabin in Glennville, CA. His travels included: Europe, Mexico, Costa Rica, Thailand, Cambodia, Berma, Philippines and China. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved flying his own plane. He was born to Earl and Ida Lewis on April 21, 1946, who preceded him in death. Also deceased in 2009, his brother, Stanley Lewis. Richie is survived by his sister, Earlene Lewis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, of Bakersfield, CA. A reception will follow, directions will be available at the mortuary.
